Andreas Lohmar, PT, Cert. MDT, began his career in physical therapy in the early 1990s and has practiced in the area since 1991. Andreas has a strong manual therapy background, which is an outgrowth of his training in Germany. He has been holding the distinction of being a Certified McKenzie Therapist since 2002. Andreas is well known in the community for his specialized and personalized patient care as well as his excellent clinical skills. “I believe that really listening to your patients is central to providing the best and most effective patient care.”

More recently, Andreas has earned the distinction of TPI Level 2 certified clinician. The Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) is the world’s leading educational organization and research facility dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. Since its inception in 2003, TPI has studied thousands of golfers ranging from the top professional tour players to weekend enthusiasts. TPI discovered how a properly functioning body allows a player to swing a golf club in the most efficient way possible. Additionally, TPI has analyzed how physical limitations in a player’s body can adversely affect the golf swing and potentially lead to injury. With the assistance of a TPI certified clinician you can finally discover the true potential of your golf game. Gretchen J. Zartman-Espich, MSPT, comes to Summit Physical Therapy with 20 plus years of experience in the outpatient setting. She is a manual therapist with extensive experience in the treatment of chronic pain and Aquatic Therapy. She is Graston Certified (a special technique used to treat strains, sprains and tendonitis of any kind). She has studied numerous manual therapy courses, including Maitland and Mulligan techniques. Gretchen is currently taking courses toward her McKenzie Certification.

Gretchen has coached high school-level swimming. She enjoys wakeboarding, running, bicycling and crafts. She is married with three sons.

Ashley came to Summit Physical Therapy in 2019. She graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2015 and practiced in both outpatient and inpatient settings in the Chicago area for four years. During that time, she advanced her education by taking all the required McKenzie MDT courses and is planning to take her exam to become a certified McKenzie Practitioner. She believes that the McKenzie Method provides patients with the invaluable education needed to understand and treat their pain to prevent re-injury. Ashley grew up in Fort Wayne but lived in the Chicago area for eight years where she attended school and worked. She and her husband are happy to be back in their hometown and close to their families. In their free time they enjoy cooking, baking, hiking, camping, and biking.

Cassandra grew up in Fort Wayne and joined Summit PT in May of 2022. She completed her undergraduate at IPFW and Master's in Clinical Nutrition from Sonoran University. Pursuant to graduate school, her passion about mental health and nutrition inspired her to apply her focus on empowering individuals to transform their mental health through a holistic nutrition approach. She enjoys reading, running, spending time with her husky, Eden, and making music.

Austin lives in West Fort Wayne with his wife and three children. He graduated from Roane State Community College in 2011 as a physical therapist assistant. He has since gained experience in several settings including aquatic therapy, acute care, and sport/orthopedic medicine. He worked for the Indianapolis Colts Physician’s until 2021 specializing in athletic return to sport preparation, endurance running rehab/video analysis, and clinic management. He joined the Summit Physical Therapy team in 2021 He is McKenzie trained in lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine, Mulligan trained in the upper/lower quarter as well as Graston trained for soft tissue mobilization. Some of his interests include running, mountain biking, disc golf and reading.

Heather Klopfenstein, PTA, began her career in Physical Therapy in 2019 at an outpatient clinic near Chicago. After working there for four years, she moved to Fort Wayne in 2023 and began a job at Summit Physical Therapy. She has experience seeing and treating a variety of patients and loves physical therapy because of the progress she is able to see in her patients. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling with her husband, being outside and spending time with friends and family.

Andrea received her Bachelors in Exercise Science in 2014 from Indiana University. Indiana University in 2014, while playing collegiate basketball. Her passion for sports, anatomy/physiology, and helping others inspired her to pursue a career in physical therapy. She graduated from the University of Indianapolis in 2021 and became a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.

Andrea joined the Summit Physical Therapy team in 2023, after working for a large orthopedic group, Forte Orthopedics, in Indianapolis. Throughout her career she has gained experience with sport/orthopedic medicine and aquatic therapy. In 2023 she became McKenzie trained for treatment of the lumbar spine. Both her and her husband are from Fort Wayne and are excited to be back home where they can give back to the communities they grew up in. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, watching sports, traveling, hiking, and working out.

Adam initially came to Summit Physical Therapy in March of 2023 as a student. He graduated from the University of Saint Francis in May of 2023 as a physical therapist assistant. He is Mckenzie trained in the treatment of the lumbar spine and is eager to further his education to continue to provide the best care to his patients. In his free time he is an assistant coach for the Leo Men's Lacrosse program and enjoys weight lifting, playing guitar, and being active outdoors.

Jon has been with Summit Physical Therapy since May 2018. He graduated from Brown Mackie College in 2014 as a Physical Therapist Assistant. He has refined his manual skills and uses the McKenzie Method and other manual techniques for the treatment of patients with chronic and acute back and neck pain. He has continued to attend post-graduate seminars to further his knowledge and skills in the field of musculoskeletal injuries. Jon and his wife Stacy celebrated the birth of their first child Jack in January of 2020. He is an avid outdoorsman and hunter.

Jodi has been providing Administrative Assistance at Summit Physical Therapy since October 2016. She enthusiastically took on various additional responsibilities in 2018 when she received her Business Degree, with a specialization in Healthcare. Her positive attitude is contagious and motivates everyone to do their best. Jodi is a busy mom, married with three children. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, working out, reading and watching Purdue football.
